z2011–2012 Open Call AUDITIONS

 
AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Monday, May 16, 2011, 1 PM–9 PM
Tuesday, May 17, 2011, 1 PM–7 PM

(Break from 4:30–5:30 PM each day)

Auditions are being held at Tennessee Repertory Theatre's office and rehearsal facility at
Nashville Public Television
161 Rains Ave., 37203
(one block from the Tennessee State Fairgrounds)

Please make sure your email contains the following information:

  • Your name and contact phone number. If something comes up that necessitates our changing your appointment and we do not have a number to call, you may lose your audition slot.
  • Indicate any time during the posted audition times that you would be UNAVAILABLE. For example, “We can’t be there to audition before 3 pm” or “We need to be done by 6 pm” etc. You may indicate a day and time preference, and we will attempt to accommodate you, however all audition slots will be filled in the order in which the requests were received, so your preference may not be available.
  • You will receive a confirmation email with your audition time. If you do not have email access, you may request an audition time by leaving a message at (615) 349-3217. However, please note that you will receive your audition slot more quickly if you send your request via email.
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPOINTMENT
  • This audition is for adults, professional actors, Equity or non-Equity.

  • You must be available to rehearse during daytime hours to be considered for a role.
  • You must be available for all performance dates to be considered for a role.
  • You must be available during the rehearsal and performance tim-frame listed in the Season Info.
  • Equity Actors: Tennessee Rep operates on an SPT7 contract with AEA ($408/week).
  • Tennessee Rep is seeking local performers, as no housing is available.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR AUDITION
  • Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
  • Please bring 2 current headshots and resumés.
  • IF AUDITIONING ONLY FOR NON-MUSICAL SHOWS, please prepare 2 contrasting monologues together totaling no more than 3 minutes. You will be cut off at three minutes, so please time your audition carefully. Your time begins with the first word of the first monologue.
  • IF AUDITIONING FOR SHOWS INCLUDING THE MUSICAL, please prepare 1 or 2 monologues and 32 bars of a song together totaling no more than 3 minutes. You will be cut off at three minutes, so please time your auditiin carefully. Your time begins with the first word of your audition (whether spoken or sung). An accompanist will be provided butyou must attend the audition on TUESDAY—please bring sheet music in your key and be sure to indicate at the time you request your appointment that you will be using the accompanist. A capella singing will not be acceptable.
Callbacks

Callbacks for specific Tennessee Repertory Theatre productions will be scheduled at a later time. You will be notified by email or phone if you are needed at a callback. It is anticipated that casting will be complete by the end of June 2011.
