TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

PLEASE EMAIL tennesseerepauditions@gmail.com

Please make sure your email contains the following information:

  • Your name and a contact phone number. (If something comes up that necessitates our changing your appointment and we do not have a number to call, you may lose your audition slot.)
  • Indicate any time during the posted audition times you would be UNAVAILABLE. For example, “I can’t audition before 3 pm” or “I need to be done by 6 pm” etc. You may indicate a day and time preference, and we will attempt to accommodate you, however all audition slots will be filled in the order in which the requests were received, so your preference may not be available.
  • Indicate if you are auditioning for the musical, and which role (see Season Info below). Auditionees for the roles that require the ability to play guitar (lead or rhythm) or piano will need to come prepared to accompany themselves for their audition (piano on site). An accompanist will be provided for auditionees for the bass-playing role ON TUESDAY ONLY, so it is vital that you provide this information.
  • You will receive a confirmation email with your audition time. If you do not have email access, you may request an audition time by leaving a message at (615) 349-3217. However, please note that you will receive your audition slot more quickly if you send your request via email.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR AUDITION
  • Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
  • Please bring 2 current headshots and resumés.
  • If auditioning ONLY for non-musical shows, please prepare 2 contrasting monologues together totaling no more than 3 minutes. You will be cut off at three minutes, so please time your audition carefully. Your time begins with the first word of the first monologue.
  • If auditioning for shows INCLUDING the musical, please prepare 1 or 2 monologues and 32 bars of a song together totaling no more than 3 minutes. You will be cut off at three minutes, so please time your audition carefully. Your time begins with the first word of your audition (whether spoken or sung). All available roles for the musical require the ability to play either piano, guitar or bass. Auditionees who play the piano or guitar should accompany themselves on the 32 bar audition selection. Auditionees for the bass-playing role will have an accompanist provided but you must attend the audition on TUESDAY—please bring sheet music in your key and be sure to indicate at the time you request your appointment that you will be using the accompanist. A capella singing will not be acceptable.

Callbacks for specific Tennessee Repertory Theatre productions will be scheduled at a later time. You will be notified by email or phone if you are needed at a callback. It is anticipated that casting will be complete by the end of June 2010.
